"Taking violin lessons with Andrea is always the highlight of my week. Not only is she a blast to hang with, but she challenges me to be a better player than I ever thought I could be. She makes learning new skills something to look forward to, as opposed to something to be intimidated by. She's simply the best there is."
- Ania Hammar- Artist and Host of Taste of Country
As a former violinist switching over to viola, Andrea understood the difficulties that I was going through. Being a live performer and not just a teacher, she had the experience to guide me on the most important techniques to become a better violist for every genre I was playing. Her lessons kept me motivated and just solidified my love for viola.
- Anselma Jones- Violist and Artist from Belize
Andrea Young's journey on the violin began when she was 2 years old studying with some of the Suzuki Method's best- including Dr. John Kendall. Incredible teachers from around the world would come to learn from Dr. Kendall and Andrea reaped countless benefits from the program. Her diverse education included instructors from Sweden, Argentina, Japan, Chile, etc. She learned early on that there were a multitude of successful ways to teach the same skills. The key was to figure out which methods worked best with each individual student. Andrea is committed to finding that magic combination for everyone she teaches.
Andrea began teaching at 15 and eventually landed a job at the prestigious Teipen Performing Arts Academy in Saint Louis where she worked for over 10 years. She graduated with honors from SIUE with a focus in Education. A performer as well, she has appeared on CMT, GAC, ESPN, and stages of all sizes across the U.S. and Europe. She has played for “One Tree Hill” actress Jana Kramer, “American Idol’s” Bo Bice, “The Voice’s” Craig Wayne Boyd, Halfway to Hazard, among many others. Currently, her band Farewell Angelina has a record deal and is touring around the world. This exciting turn of events hasn’t slowed her passion for teaching. Instead, she is able to bring a wealth of new knowledge and experience into lessons.

Whatever your reason, you are welcome! Plus, the first lesson is free!
